About Okoshi Bar

On April 4th, 2014, we La Granda Familio launched our new item, Okoshi Bar.
Okoshi Bar is a wonderful integration of the old and the new - Okoshi, which is a traditional confectionary in Osaka, and our granola that we proudly bake every day in Nakazaki-cho. A new healthy bar on the go!

This additive-free, safe and secure food is perfect for your daily snacks, but you can also bring it to your outdoor scenes or store it as survival food.

The package design was done by a fascinating artist, Maya Maxx.

Okoshi was first made during Edo era in Osaka. In Japanese "Okoshi" means "Rise up". So the confectionary was related to rise up yourself, families, and the country. Also "Ba" in Japanese means "a place". So we are hoping that this Okoshi Bar will create "a space to rise up".

Therefore, the package design had to be something that could lift and light up the person's soul, however small its size is. This Okoshi Bar can truly help people as survival food. So it really had to be something that could give the person hope and strength, so that he/she can rise up from the situation - however critical - and walk on.

Maya Maxx is an amazing artist who is filled with that kind of positive and loving energy.

The manufacturer of this item is Braise Do, that has been making "Tengu no Iwa Okoshi" since Edo era. We are deeply honord and grateful for this opportunity to make this happen. And so many thanks for all of the people who are involved in this project.

So rise up yourself, rise up your family, and rise up our country!
